The legal battle surrounding Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's arrest has intensified, with the Supreme Court likely to hear the case following an appeal by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). AAP's legal team made a late-night plea to the Supreme Court, hoping for an urgent hearing, but the court scheduled the matter for today morning.

In response to Kejriwal's arrest in connection with a money laundering case linked to alleged irregularities in the scrapped Delhi excise policy 2021-22, AAP has called for countrywide protests. Key leaders of the party, including Bhagwant Mann, have arrived in the national capital to join the demonstrations against the arrest.

Opposition parties have rallied behind AAP, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi saying that “a scared dictator wants to create a dead democracy”. AAP Minister Atishi, asserts that Kejriwal would continue his duties as the CM from jail.

Meanwhile, Delhi CM Kejriwal is slated to appear before a special PMLA court on Friday, where the ED is expected to seek his remand for custodial interrogation. The 55-year-old politician was arrested after ED raid at his official residence in Flagstaff Road, Civil Lines.

Medical personnel were observed entering the ED office in central Delhi, where Kejriwal is being held, to conduct a preliminary medical examination before his court appearance. The ED is likely to request a 10-day custody, citing Kejriwal's alleged lack of cooperation in the investigation.
